Character Description: Friedrich is 14 and is proud to be a boy. He has a tough exterior and is very much trying to be "the man" of the family; desperately needs his father.

Acting Tips:

• Stand tall when your father is around - try to mimic his posture
• Show your tough side around your siblings but more vulnerability when alone
• React strongly when the Captain starts paying attention to you again
• Find moments to be protective of your younger siblings
• With Maria, show initial resistance but growing respect
